Spotted-wing drosophila (Drosophila suzukii) lays its eggs in sound, ripe fruit, spoiling cherries and soft fruit just before harvest. Anti-SWD mesh is a very fine physical barrier that stops the fly reaching the crop. At Textil Villa de Pego we manufacture the mesh to measure since 1949; it is fitted over the tunnel or orchard structure. We supply the net, not the structure.

How it is fitted
The fine mesh is fitted over the tunnel, the orchard structure or as a cover, and closed at the sides so the fly cannot enter during ripening. It is fixed with PET monofilament thread (Agropet®) and accessories that do not cut the fabric. The mesh gauge is chosen fine enough to stop SWD while keeping ventilation. We manufacture panels to the size of your crop.

Do you install the mesh?
No. We manufacture and supply the mesh made to measure; fitting it on your tunnel or structure is done by you or your installer. We advise on mesh gauge and fixing.
Do you also sell the structure or tunnel?
No. We sell the fabric (the mesh). The tunnel or orchard structure is provided by the grower; our mesh adapts to the one you already have.
Which crops is it for?
