The potato is a tuber that keeps breathing and releasing moisture after harvest, so it needs packaging that ventilates rather than trapping heat. The open leno weave lets air pass through every face of the bag, dissipating the heat and moisture of the freshly harvested potato. With no stagnant air there is no internal condensation — the main cause of premature sprouting, mould and rot during storage.

HDPE monofilament delivers high tensile and tear strength at very low weight. The bags withstand filling, sewing, palletising and repeated loading and unloading without bursting, even in the largest capacities for bulk sale.

We personalise every bag with a full-colour printed band carrying your logo, variety, origin and grade. The mesh shows the potato directly, and the fabric colour (red, brown or others) enhances the produce and sets your brand apart at the point of sale.

Why choose mesh bags?
Compared with a closed or plastic bag, mesh is the ideal packaging for the potato because it breathes. The leno weave lets field moisture evaporate instead of condensing against the bag wall, keeping the tuber dry and firm for weeks. That same airflow prevents overheating when the bags are stacked on a pallet, while the open mesh leaves the produce on view so buyers can judge size, colour and condition without opening the pack. Light, stackable and breathable: leno mesh keeps produce better and sells it better.

What bag sizes and capacities do you make for potatoes?
We make the mesh bags to measure, with indicative capacities from small 2.5 kg retail formats up to 25 and 50 kg bags for bulk sale. We set the size, weight and closure type to suit your potato grade and packing line; tell us your requirements and we will prepare a proposal.
Can I have my own brand printed on the bag?
Yes. We personalise the mesh bags with a full-colour printed band carrying your logo, variety, origin and traceability details. It is the usual way to set your potato apart on the shelf and reinforce the brand image of the grower or cooperative.
Why leno mesh rather than a closed raffia bag for potatoes?
Leno mesh ventilates on every face and prevents the condensation that dries out or rots the tuber, which a closed bag cannot do. It also leaves the produce on view, an advantage at the point of sale. Woven raffia is preferable for prolonged storage without display; for packing and selling fresh potatoes, mesh is the recommended option.
